Marilyn’s writing credits include ten books, numerous magazine and newspaper articles, and poetry. The Oregon Public School system chose one of her children’s’ stories, printed in Cricket Magazine, to be included in their state’s testing program. Marilyn served two terms as secretary of the National League of American Penwomen. She’s tutored incoming writing students at a community college, and taught adults to read in her local Adult Learning program. Marilyn volunteers at an elementary school, encouraging students to discover the excitement of reading and she’s served as a judge in junior high level writing contests. She loves public speaking, and her hobbies include needlework, especially knitting.
