Lisa Rene' Smith grew up in Texas, always wanting to be a writer. An avid reader of vampire literature, she somehow felt a kinship with those of the lonely, blood-drinking ilk. Later, Lisa read a vampire novel that literally changed her life. The book was so terrible it literally "sucked" (pun intended.) Lisa thought "I can write a better book than that!" so she set out to begin her first novel. She first spent a lot of time doing extensive research so her characters and settings would be realistic. After you read Colin's Conquest you may want to search the Texas piney woods for the vampire's lair!
LOVE OF NATURE—Lisa enjoys "becoming one" with nature, by spending time hiking through the woods, visiting the beach, and exploring caves and other mysterious places.
ANIMAL PASSION—You could almost call Lisa's house the "wild kingdom"--she has a menagerie of pets, her favorites include a special Green Wing Macaw and two black cats named Lucy and Vlad!
THE PARANORMAL—Lisa enjoys exploring haunted locations, frequently traveling all around Texas and beyond. Visit the Paranormal page on this website to read stories about haunted places.
