At the age of ten, Conda discovered, to her occasional dismay, that she was born to be a writer. She grew up in a tiny mountain town in Idaho, in her folk’s funky art gallery. The first in Conda's new mystery series, “Starke Naked Dead” was inspired by her childhood and love of the art world, ski resorts and the unique but universal life of small town Idaho. When she's not saving her cat from her rat terrorist terrier, or cooking up a batch of slumgullion, Conda works on the next title in the "Starke" series, "Starke Raving Dead."

She also loves to travel and her short story,The Dogs of Ubud, comes from Conda’s one visit to the island of Bali, a place seemingly vulnerable, yet with a surprising resilience. Conda yearns to return there sometime soon. After all, she loves dogs.
